Who Should Attend?
Owners and Managers of small business and sole traders will benefit from this course. It is primarily for those with little knowledge of Sage who would like to understand more about the day to day book-keeping needs of their business and how this can be enhanced by using a computerised financial system.
Course Objectives:
This training course provides grounding in the fundamentals of double entry book-keeping skills for your business and builds on them to introduce a model of computerised book-keeping. The course is designed to introduce you to accounting in Sage and help you track your profit performance, your cash, your debtors (people who owe you money) and your creditors (people who you owe money to), the follow up advisory session provides you with the opportunity to develop further your own system and book-keeping needs.
Course Outline:
- Overview of Sage
How Sage works behind the scenes and how it integrates with basic business book-keeping. Introduction to double entry book-keeping.
- Set Up
Basic Configuration and Nominal Account Set up including set up of chart of accounts. Password protection and system maintenance.
- Bank Setup
Set up bank accounts, credit card and cash accounts.
- Record Maintenance
Setting up, amending and maintaining supplier and Customer records.
- Processing and Data Entry
Using the ledgers for data entry and how they integrate. Journal entry, managing payments and receipts.
Invoicing routines for Customers and Suppliers.
- Bank Reconciliation
How to carry out a bank reconciliation.
