Star Treatment

Jo Forshaw has recently launched a sports therapy and rehabilitation clinic, Star Treatment in Ashton Under -Lyne.

After finishing a sports rehabilitation degree from Bolton University last June, Jo decided to set up her own business specialising in sports therapy and rehabilitation. Having previously been self employed as a market stall trader Jo wanted to be her own boss. With the experience of working as a sports therapist with Mossely semi professional football club, Jo had the relevant experience in her chosen field but needed some guidance about setting up a business.

Jo approached Tameside Council looking for property for her business and through this Blue Orchid, the business support agency which has the contract to deliver free business support to businesses in Manchester got in touch.

Blue Orchid went on to provide Jo with help to make a business plan, which was guided and reviewed at regular intervals.  Blue Orchid also provided Jo with help in cash flow forecasting to try and secure capital for her business. This was an area which was completely new to Jo and this advice was invaluable.

The business has now been up and running since March 1 and provides clients with assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment in all areas of sports injuries and rehabilitation. Jo hopes to capitalize on her already busy client schedule in the coming months. Blue Orchid has helped Jo to set up her business and will help be able her develop it over the next year.
