RedShift radio aims for a flying start to enterprise
Crewe based RedShift Radio is teaming up with business support agency Blue Orchid, which will be sponsoring a season of programmes aimed at helping potential entrepreneurs set up in business.
The Flying Start programme will be broadcast every Thursday afternoon between two and four pm for 20 weeks. Blue Orchid staff will be working alongside the show’s presenters Ann Bach and Oliver Rowe offering start-up businesses advice in key areas such as business planning, marketing and finance. Other local business professionals including accountants and solicitors will also be on hand to offer advice each week.
Blue Orchid business advisor Kerry Hall, said: “We are a proactive business support agency and the Flying Start programme has given us a great opportunity to connect with a wider audience to promote enterprise and the benefits of working for yourself. We want to help people develop their business idea by carefully thinking through their aims and objectives, researching the market in which they plan to operate and developing a realistic business plan. We are looking forward to working with the RedShift team to help new businesses start and hopefully inspire more people to consider the option of self-employment. Anyone thinking of setting up a business in Cheshire East can contact us and we will provide one to one support and invite them to attend our training workshops and events.”
RedShift Radio business development director Liz Southall, said she hopes the Flying Start programme will encourage entrepreneurial spirit in the area.
“We have launched the programme to act as an outlet to encourage enterprise in South Cheshire. We partnered with Blue Orchid as they have an established track record of guiding people into self-employment. Hopefully, the show will act as a catalyst for entrepreneurialism.”
Blue Orchid’s support is delivered though the ISUS programme, which is provided by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and delivered by Blue Orchid in Cheshire East. ISUS is part of Solutions for Business, the Government's package of publicly funded business support designed to help companies start and grow. The programme is funded by the NWDA, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and backed by Cheshire East Council.
