‘Made by Hands of Britain’ founder Gillian Montegrande receives Cheshire East Rural Women’s Award
Macclesfield, Cheshire - 19 October 2010 – Gillian Montegrande, Founder of ‘Made by Hands of Britain’ has been presented with the Cheshire East Rural Women’s Award 2010. The award, announced yesterday at the eighth annual awards ceremony, is in recognition of Gillian Montegrande’s work in supporting local artisans and producers through her website www.madebyhandsofbritain.com
‘Made by Hands of Britain’ is an online marketplace which unites Britain’s artisans and craftsmen under one virtual roof. The website showcases the heritage, traditions and today’s interpretations of British art and craftsmanship. The over 140 artisans and craftsmen who market their products and services through the site offer a wide range of specialist items and services including art and sculpture, interior furniture and accessories, garden structures and ornaments, food and drink, clothing, stained glass and architectural metalwork.
The Rural Women’s Awards Evening was organised by a partnership of private, public and voluntary sector organisations and formed part of the World Rural Women’s Day Celebrations. The awards recognise individuals that have had an impact on their local communities.
